Anipals Are Special!

Hi everyone - Bunny's mom here. As many of you know, this has been a wild week for me. It started off on Sunday, I had a wonderful time at BlogPaws meeting lots of new and "old" friends. I was so excited about the energy at that conference and looked forward to coming home and working on the "Be The Change" challenge. Of course, as always, real life gets in the way...

I was traveling to Harrisburg, PA on Tuesday to attend a professional conference when I got a phone call from my mother telling me that my brother who lives in Colorado was missing. My family is spread very far across the country - MD, PA, TX, VT and WA - so we had to organize an effort to search for my brother by phone and email. We each chose a different task based on our location and our various skill sets. I chose to do what I know best - I jumped on the internet and posted, posted, posted.

Now Bunny and I have been on twitter for over a year. We've tweeted and retweeted. We've tried to help people find missing pets, deal with illness (sudden or long-term) and the eventual death of a beloved companion, and we have helped raise funds for animal rescues and emergency situations. So I know how compassionate the anipal community is, but I still have to admit that I was stunned at the response of so many friends helping to get the word out about my brother.

I have had friends from all over the United States and as far away as the U.K., Israel, and New Zealand retweet and cross post for me. And every tweet on twitter, every post on facebook helps to spread the word - so thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Anipals truly are the best friends in the world!

With love,

Vicki Stringfellow Cook

  1. You know that you would do the same for someone else in the same situation. Here's hoping and praying that Crist comes home safely.

  2. Vicki--if there is anything I can do to help, please let me know! I don't twitter as much as some others, but I linked on Facebook. Hope he's safe.
