Tell Time To Remove Vick From Comeback List

Via Maggie Marton at Change.org - Last week, TIME magazine released their Top 10 Everything of 2010. Coming in at number nine on their list of comebacks of the year? Michael Vick. So it seems that as long as Vick plays well on the field, his dog-fighting days will be forgotten.

While it's true that Vick's high-profile bust brought national attention to the horrors and prevalence of dog fighting, his immediate forgiveness and return to star-athlete status sets a terrible example. The result? Incidents of dog fighting are on the rise in cities like Philadelphia, and young children are becoming involved.

TIME's article is irresponsible. Naming Vick as one of the best comebacks of 2010 sends the message that success on the football field trumps the crimes he committed or the dogs' lives he took. Tell TIME magazine to remove Michael Vick from the list of top comebacks by signing this petition.

  1. I agree too. Unfortunately, football rules these days. It's no wonder a lot of the young people are troubled these days. The examples we are setting stink! Now he gets even more publicity.

  7. thanks, some people think that he just funded the operation, they don't want to know that he has blood on his hands... please read the lost dogs by jim gorant, it is very well written and tells the stories of and honors the dogs, for the dogs. some media are saying that vick is only banned from having a dog until 2012, if that is true, we cannot let that happen... just saying... i wrote a blog post called dead dogs don't lie. thanks.

  9. What made me mad was how they are trying to get people to forget. Saw an article that said "Vick in trouble for wanting a pet pitbull" Like as if that is what he was doing instead of fighting them. Pffft! What is so good about hte guy that they need him so bad?
