Top 10 Posts of 2017

Every December I like to share the most popular posts of the past year. The date is especially significant because December 31st is my eighth blogiversary!

Bunny's Blog began as an extension of my activities on Twitter in 2009. A group of animal-loving tweeps joined together each month to raise funds for animal charities all over the world. In late 2009, a new group called BlogPaws was forming, and I joined to learn more about how blogging could help.

I attended the first BlogPaws conference in 2010, and I jumped into blogging with both feet. My professional experience in fundraising and my love of animals made focusing my blog on animal-related causes a natural fit.

I blogged nearly every day for the first four years, but I hit the wall in mid-2014. I took a three-month hiatus and came back in October 2014. What I learned during my time off was, as much as I love blogging, I needed to establish some firm boundaries for myself. So I set up some new guidelines regarding subject matter, frequency of posts, etc.

I continue to blog on a regular basis focusing on the animal-related causes I love. I have a small core group of readers, and I appreciate everyone who shares my posts. I am thankful for everyone who has followed Bunny's Blog for the past eight years, and I look forward to another great year in 2018.

So without further ado, the top 10 posts for 2017 are:
  1. ASPCA and Cloud Nine Rescue Flights partner to fly animals displaced by Hurricane Maria
  2. Can you break a window to save a dog in a hot car?
  3. Seven courageous canines named finalists for 2017 American Hero Dog Awards

  9. More than 80 Great Danes rescued from suspected puppy mill in New Hampshire

Wishing you a happy and healthy New Year!

  1. I'm surprised your "Can You Break A Window..." post wasn't #1. But I suspect it's going to be one that draws readers over many years.

What I found encouraging was how positive your top posts were. It's really nice to read about the good things that happen when people work to help animals.
