Rabies Campaign 2010

dis week's Be the Change for Animals challenge is to support Veterinarians Without Borders (VWB) campaign against rabies. countless animals and 55,000 people die annually from a disease we know how to prevent! VWB provides rabies prevention and community education programs around da world. dis September, u can participate in Rabies Campaign 2010 and recognize World Rabies Day on September 28th.

here's wat u can do to help: join VWB on facebook and follow dem on twitter. invite ur furends, cross post, and retweet! itz dat easy and helps to raise awareness regarding dis issue. wif effective programming, community education and community involvement, da global rabies problem is solvable. u can help make rabies history!

Danish Rabbit Jumping

one of mom's facebook furends sent her a linky about Danish Rabbit Jumping competitions, which iz similar to horse jumping - but obviously no one rides da rabbits. der are four events: Elite Straight, Elite Crooked, High Jump and Long Jump. check out da video of da 2010 winners - ders sum very impressive jumping going on der, especially since da only place i jump iz to mai bowl!

My Dog is Cool

dis week's Be the Change for Animals challenge is My Dog is Cool by United Animal Nations. every year, dogs suffer and die inside cars during da summer heat. cooler morning temps can rise quickly while dog owners run der errands. leaving a dog fur just a few minutes can lead to a tragic, entirely preventable death. here's wat u can do to help: 1) print fliers and place dem on da windshields of cars, 2) offer posters fur display in stores, 3) write a letter to da editor of ur local paper, 4) link ur bloggy to My Dog is Cool, and 5) make a pledge to keep ur dog cool. if u see a dog in heat distress, call da local animal control agency, police or 911 right away. it can take only 10 minutes fur a dog suffer deadly heat stroke!

LBWHF is a unique safe haven fur animals providing top-quality, lifelong care to da animals it rescues. dey emphasize proper nutrition, provide first-class veterinary care, comfortable facilities, training, socializing, and an abundance of love.

Lub2Rock iz hosted by da Shibbering Cheetos, da first-ever Twitter band. der mission iz to raise funds and awareness fur animal organizations around da world. da fun starts on Saturday at 6pm eastern, and u can RSVP using twtvite. oh yeah - a certain rabbit dj will be der too.

Halt Wild Horse Roundups

dis week's Be The Change For Animals challenge iz Halt Wild Horse Roundups. da Bureau of Land Management is stampeding thousands of wild horses frum protected lands in Nevada and California. dez lands are protected by da Wild Free Roaming Horses and Burros Act of 1971, yet da deadly roundups continue. here's wat u can do to help: 1) send an email, 2) sign a petition, and 3) send a letter telling da Bureau of Land Management to PROTECT da horses in der care. u can be a voice fur America's wild horses!

How Pawpawty Works

it dawned on me dat sum of mai newer furends might not nose wat pawpawty iz or how it works so i borrowed dis note frum mai pal kittehboi:

"A pawpawty is a virtual party held by and for the anipals (animal pals) on Twitter. To join, search hashtag #pawpawty. Each pawpawty benefits a different animal charity. A pawpawty lasts for an entire day and is attended by anipals from around the world. There are DJs spinning tunes using such sites as blip.fm and Grooveshark; Barktenders who serve virtual drinks such as Hank's Bacon Beer and tunatinis; and a Sekurity detail. mom iz so excited cuz Barkworld Expo iz only two weeks away! BW Expo iz a social media event fur pet owners and businesses dat utilize social media. itz also for peeps dat want to learn more about wat pets are doing online and how dey can be a part of dis growing online community. BW Expo takes place in Atlanta, GA frum August 20-22, and der will be lots of grate speakers. mom hopes to meet lots of new peeps and to connect wif her "old" furends too! u can follow BW Expo on twitter and facebook.
