A new life for Chance

This video shows the rescue of a large stray pit bull on the streets of Los Angeles. Rescues like this are extremely dangerous and should NEVER be attempted by the general public.

Hope for Paws was notified of a large male pit bull frequently seen hiding near a hot dog truck. Fortunately, Chance was in his regular spot when help arrived. As large as he was, Chance was scared and sad. Rescuers worked hard to gain his trust by feeding him hot dogs, but his fear was just too great to let anyone touch him.

Finally, he got tired and hid underneath a bench, which gave Hope for Paws co-founder Eldad Hagar a chance to sneak up on him from behind. Hagar kneeled down quietly on the bench and was able to put a slip lead on Chance. The dog struggled and urinated in fear, but rescuers were finally able to put him in a cage and transport him to a new life.

Hope for Paws is a 501c3 non-profit animal rescue organization founded by Audrey and Eldad Hagar. They rescue dogs and all other animals who are suffering on the streets and in shelters. Their goal is to educate people about the importance of companion animals in our society.
