A unique way to get people to adopt dogs

Here's an interesting video about a project in Costa Rica to help get more mixed-breed dogs adopted.

In Costa Rica, an organization named Territorio de Zaguates dedicates itself to the rescue of abandoned dog. They shelter, neuter and find loving homes for them.

But while the interest in dog rescuing grows, the number of adoptions doesn't. This happens because most shelter dogs are mixed breeds. And when it comes to choosing a pet, they're considered less valuable than pure breeds.

So the organization began a campaign to identify some of the breeds present plus a specific detail in every dog, which gave birth to unique breeds. The breeds were shown on television, Facebook and outdoor advertising with the message "When you adopt a mutt, you adopt a unique breed."

Congratulations to Territorio de Zaguates on the success of their campaign. This video won a Silver and Bronze at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2013.
