Time to 'Get Pet Ready' for warmer weather

Via PR Log - Your pet likes warmer weather almost as much as you do. But are you ready for a pet-friendly summer? Changing temperatures means changing needs of your furry friends.

On Tuesday, May 7 at 7 p.m. (EDT), Petrendologist Charlotte Reed is hosting a Twitter party about getting your pet ready for summer. Embracing the most interactive of online forums, this petcentric Twitter event advises and informs party goers on the best, most efficient and most economical ways to #GetPetReady.

According to Reed, transitioning to summer can be both an exciting and overwhelming time for you and your pet.

“Getting your pet ready for higher temperatures and increased time outdoors is very important for his health and possibly yours. Being prepared with pet sunscreen, parasite protection and a pet-friendly garden will ensure a happy and healthy summer. Before it starts to heat up, #GetPetReady at the May 7th Twitter party!”

Reed will talk and facilitate a discussion about a variety of topics, including:

  • Making the most of your vet visits
  • Evaluating flea and tick options
  • Handling pet shedding
  • Giving your dog a mini-makeover
  • Dealing with pet allergies
  • Creating a weight loss strategy for your pet
  • Avoiding warm weather hazards
  • Updating gear and identification
  • Creating a pet-friendly yard
  • Handling warm weather hazards
  • Meeting new friends

Reed will encourage #GetPetReady party-participants to voice their concerns about their furry friends and to share their timely and seasonal tips.

  1. What a great thing to do. Even if you only prevent 1 animal who had crossed the bridge due to a heat-related situation, you will have done a great service., Great idea and hopefully you will reach thousands with the message. As we know, Twitter is powerful!
