PetFlow.com teams up with HB's ‘For Care Packages’ to help military working dogs

Via PRWeb - PetFlow.com has announced that it has raised more than $20,000 in products for HB’s For Care Packages, a not-for-profit group that facilitates care packages between sponsors and deployed men, women and war dog handlers.

There are currently six hundred canines, known as military working dogs or MWDs that are serving in Afghanistan. Many people are aware of bomb detection dogs, such as the German Shepherds and Belgian Malinois that serve in the military; however, there are number of furry friends stationed overseas to do what they do best – provide tons of love and slobbery kisses to soldiers that are feeling down.

"PetFlow.com’s members have so greatly enhanced the lives of the hundreds of military working dogs and the handlers we sponsor in Afghanistan. Just today we received over 100 packages from their pawsome customers," said Meredith Wartelle, K-9 administrator for HB’s For Care Packages.

"We were struggling to fulfill toy and treat requests on top of sending much needed K-9 gear like beds and booties to the hundreds of pups we support and the hundreds of troops we sponsor. With Petflow's kindness and patriotism, we now know that the health and happiness of our four-pawed military is going to vastly improve."

"We are so proud of our customers, who gave so generously towards this great cause. It is truly a heartwarming feeling to be able to put smiles on the faces of both K-9s as well as their handlers, who are on the front lines defending our freedom," said Alex Zhardanovsky, co-founder of PetFlow.com.

To assist the hundreds of military dogs serving in Afghanistan and Iraq, PetFlow.com contacted its hundreds of thousands of customers via email, alerting them on how they can help HB’s For Care Packages. Members can choose how little or how much they’d like to donate and can receive $5 off for any $35 order, or $10 off any $65 order. As always, shipping is free for any order over $55.
