Swheat Scoop helps homeless felines through new philanthropic program

Via PR Newswire - Swheat Scoop has announced the formal launch of its new Swheat Shares program, in which the makers of the all-natural wheat clumping litter will partner monthly with a different rescue facility by donating 2,000 pounds of Swheat Scoop litter for use in conjunction with the rescue's foster and shelter programs.

In the U.S., approximately 10 million companion animals enter animal shelters and rescues each year. These organizations play a vital role in the lives of cats across the country, ensuring that homeless felines are provided food, water and protection while they wait for their forever homes.

"Giving back has always been a priority for Swheat Scoop," says Alyssa Hammerschmidt, marketing manager at Swheat Scoop. "We believe that supporting rescue organizations in their efforts to eliminate feline homelessness aligns perfectly with our belief that every cat deserves to live the 'Swheat Life.'"

Through the rescue facility, Swheat Scoop also provides adoption kits to new cat owners. These kits include a 7-pound bag of Swheat Scoop litter, a temporary and disposable litter box, a certificate of adoption and other items with important information to help get their cat/owner relationship off to a good start.

In 2014, Swheat Shares will bring its positive impact to rescues in Minneapolis, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, and other major metropolitan areas. To nominate a shelter for the Swheat Shares partner program please visit swheatscoop.com/swheat-shares.
