Dogington Post Embraces the Spirit of April Fools' Day

Via PRWeb - April 1 is not a national holiday, but it is widely recognized and celebrated as a day when people play practical jokes and hoaxes on each other. In the spirit of the April Fools' Day, the Dogington Post has replaced all factual and informative articles on their home page with fabricated prank articles!

“We're serious about dogs, but we like to have fun, too!” said Brandy Arnold, content editor for the Dogington Post. “We hope our fans enjoy the silliness of April Fool's Day and, as a result, take dog news and responsible pet ownership more seriously every other day of the year.”

It may seem like all fun and games, but the site has a larger goal in mind. At the end of every silly prank article, the Dogington Post delivers an important and serious message to readers about plight of puppy mill dogs and what dog lovers can do to put an end to puppy mills, along with links to support their Best Dog Rescue winner, National Mill Dog Rescue.

“Dogington Post hopes our April Fools' Day prank articles will draw a lot of viral attention with a message of adopting dogs and ending puppy mills reaching more people than ever!” said Arnold.

Some of the spoof articles published for this one day include a fabricated story about the winner of this year’s Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show losing his title because he impregnated a mixed breed dog; how to train a dog to steal your friend’s wallet; fake tax laws for dog owners; and the results of a fake poll on how the dog-loving community feels about marriage equality for dogs.

In a contest held at the beginning of this year, the Dogington Post’s fans selected the National Mill Dog Rescue as their Best Dog Rescue for 2012 and, as a result, all charitable efforts by Dogington Post are aimed at supporting the beloved organization. As part of their efforts to promote the rescue, the site published information and links to the National Mill Dog Rescue following each of their spoof articles.

“This is one of many initiatives we have planned for 2013, in hopes of bringing recognition and awareness of puppy mills and the incredible work of the National Mill Dog Rescue to readers.”
