Anthropologie announces fifth annual Sit.Stay.Love. campaign

Via PRWeb - Anthropologie is proud to announce the fifth annual Sit.Stay.Love. campaign, which promotes pet adoptions and pet supply drives for local animal shelters across the United States.

From September 20 to September 22, Anthropologie’s more than 170 locations in the United States and Canada will partner with pet shelters in their communities to host events and to strive to break last year's records for adoptions and donations.

"Pets are an important part of Anthropologie's culture," said Anthropologie Group CEO David McCreight. "We have a keen appreciation for how they enrich our lives and the lives of our customers. It's our turn to give back by dedicating our resources to help deserving pets in need of good homes."

Employees at Anthropologie's Philadelphia based home office, which has a dog friendly policy, set a great example. Of the nearly 100 dogs that come to work with their owners, more than half were adopted from local shelters. Many employees also donate their time to help sustain local shelters.

Anthropologie created Sit.Stay.Love. to bring attention to the plight of shelter pets and the benefits of adoption. According to the American Humane Association each year approximately 8 million stray and unwanted animals are taken in by shelters across the country. Only 3.5 million of the 17 million people that acquire a new pet each year choose to adopt their pet.

Now in its fifth year, Anthropologie's Sit.Stay.Love. campaign has contributed to the adoption of hundreds of dogs and collected thousands of dollars worth of supplies for local shelters.
