Top 10 posts of 2015

It’s the last week of the year, and like many bloggers, I like to take a look at what has happened with my blog over the past year. This is especially significant because December 31 marks my sixth blogiversary!

Bunny’s Blog has definitely evolved over the past six years. The blog was originally written in the voice of my rabbit, Bunny Jean Cook. It started out with BJC highlighting various friends and anipals that she followed on Twitter, as well as the fundraising events that she participated in.

But BJC crossed the Rainbow Bridge in 2011, so I started writing in my own voice, and the blog became a reflection of my interest in animal-related causes.

The frequency of posts has also changed over the years. Originally I posted every other day, but in 2012, I decided to kick it up a notch and started posting nearly every day. This was great for my stats, but not so great for me – and I hit the wall in late 2013. I backed off on my posting schedule and continued to post every other day until July 2014, when I decided to take an indefinite break.

I took a three month break from blogging, which gave me a chance to reevaluate whether I wanted to continue. In October 2014, Bunny’s Blog returned from hiatus with a newfound focus. What I had learned during my time off was, as much I loved blogging, I needed to establish some very firm boundaries for myself. This included the subject matter, how frequently I posted, and whether I accepted guest posts, ads, etc.

Using these guidelines throughout 2015 has helped me greatly. I generally post once a week now – although I can take a break without feeling guilty. I’m free to focus on the animal-related causes that I love, and I don’t feel the need to accept every blogging opportunity that comes my way. I have a small, core group of readers, and I appreciate everyone who shares my posts. I am thankful for everyone who has followed Bunny’s Blog over the past six years, and I look forward to another great year in 2016.

So without further ado, the Top 10 posts for 2015 are:
